Showcasing Sona in San Diego, part 1

Next week Team Sona will be travelling to San Diego, California to attend the Advanced Lateral Flow Course(ALFC) 2018.

This three-day seminar, hosted by DCN Diagnosticsand Qiagen, is a key event in the rapid diagnostic testing market.

Aimed at developers and manufacturers of rapid diagnostic tests and their associated products, ALFC 2018 will guide delegates through the steps of producing and commercialising a point of care diagnostic device.

It will also address various questions about lateral flow diagnostics, such as what these tests are really capable of and what the future holds for this technology.

The event will also include the presentation of the first Rapid Testing Innovation Award. This competitive prize includes a cash award of $10,000 and will recognize the best innovation to the field of rapid point-of-care assays or the most novel application for rapid assays during the past year.

We look forward to learning more about the five finalists and learning who has won this prestigious prize.

Sona is proud to be a sponsor of ALFC 2018. For us, this is one of the most important events of the year as it brings together in one location all the main players in the market.

This gives us the perfect opportunity to showcase the incredible potential of our unique gold nanorods, which will power the next generation of lateral flow diagnostic tests and transform healthcare provision.

We will be attending the event alongside several of our partners:

  • Bond Digital Healthis a UK-based life sciences company whose end-to-end software services can help lateral flow assay developers and lateral flow device reader manufacturers. Sona and Bond have signed a co-marketing agreement, which means we will work together to market and promote each other’s products and services to prospective customers.
  • Expedeonis a global provider of innovative technologies and services for the life sciences and diagnostics industries. Sona and Expedeon recently signed an agreementto supply Sona’s unique gold nanorods for integration into Expedeon’s product range.

Sona CEO Darren Rowles said: “We are proud to be attending, sponsoring and exhibiting at ALFC 2018. This important event will allow us to demonstrate to delegates from all over the world how our unique gold nanorods will improve the performance and sensitivity of their lateral flow tests.

“It will also be the ideal opportunity to make valuable connections with some of the biggest names in our industry, which could lead to exciting new partnerships and collaborations.
